What does it mean?
It is a need to acquire information in our everyday life. To be able to sustain our lives, we need to know how do we live. A simple knowing of something is just a simple acquisition of knowledge. This knowledge that we have learned is powerful enough to judge our future. The more knowledge, innovation will increases its peak. As this innovation improves, the way of our living will become easier and through acquiring more knowledge, you can become successful in life.
How does information become knowledge?
Information, through different processes, become knowledge once we acquire it. If one can able to interpret an information based on his own understanding, we can say that he or she becomes knowledgeable based on that fact. Information is something that we can perceive and it is not necessarily taken on our mind. Knowledge is set of information we considered, for it is beneficial to us, as an intake to our mind.
Importance of giving credit to one's work
It is important to give credit to one's work because it is something he or she has created for society's sake. It is recognizing someone's talent and hardwork for he or she has done something beneficial to society. Giving credit is also giving respect to the original creator of an innovation.
Characteristics of an information literate individual.
For me, an information literate individual knows the different trusted information sources. It is not the matter of evaluating a source based on formality of words. The fact that it contains must be differentiable from an opinion and it must be relied on the strong foundation of truth. The very least an information literate individual can do is to educate and inspire others how to be an information literate individual too.
